Owls place 12th in Louisana

David Toms Intercollegiate

BATON ROUGE, La. – It wasn’t the best tournament for the Rice men’s golf team, but the team managed a top 15 finish at the David Toms Intercollegiate here Sunday.

The Owls shot a three-round 939 [317-314-308].

“This one hurts a lot, but we have to put it behind us and prepare for Miramont,” head coach Justin Emil said. “That will be a good opportunity to bounce back.”

Senior Joel Beck III led the team with a 16-over 232 [80-78-74].

Tournament host LSU won team honors with a 27-over 891, while Tiger Benjamin Taylor claimed individual honors at 2 under.
